The exams are almost here.

You want your child to do well in the exams.

But you can’t study for your child.

Then what can you do?

Follow the ABCDE of exam time parenting.

And help your child ace the exams

A - for ANGRY

Do not get angry.
It may be difficult to stay calm when your child does not study or cannot understand or forgets.
But it is most important that you stay calm because the minute you get angry – your child’s thinking brain shuts down.
And when the thinking brain shuts down, they just cannot do well in the exams

B – for BREAKS

When the exam is just a few days away you may feel like your child needs to study constantly without a break because there is no time.
But that is not the best thing to do.
Give your child a 5-minute break every 25 minutes.
Moving around, drinking water or just cracking a joke during the break helps the brain focus

C – for COLLABORATE

Don’t keep nagging your child to study more or do better.
See what you can do to help your child do better.
Can you explain something? Can you help them remember something? Can you help them schedule time effectively?
Do what you can to work as a team.

D – for DESTRESS

Exams cause stress. Even if your child looks completely relaxed and uncaring, know that they are stressed.
Focus on the food you are serving them. It should be rich in macro and micronutrients.
Ensure that they get enough sleep.
Make a schedule that allows them a few hours of play and exercise.

E – for EXAMPLES

A lot of the information that your child is trying to cram into their brain may seem irrelevant to them. And that is why they don’t understand it or forget it easily.
Help your child to learn and remember what they are learning with real life examples and stories.

Are you following the ABCDE of exam time parenting?

Type RESULTS and start practicing this today.

You can do so much more than shouting and hitting to improve your child’s result.
Share this as a promise to yourself to do everything you can to help your child.
