What happens in a birthing class?
In the birthing class Dr Debmita Dutta explains the magical process of birthing very simply without using any mindboggling medical terminology. She has many expecting moms come to her and express their anxiety about not knowing how to push out their baby during labour. And so she focuses on helping them understand that their bodies are strong enough to push out their babies. And that the process of labour is almost automatic. Once the baby is ready to come out into the world – nobody can stop it. However, the experience becomes much more pleasant if they can learn how to participate in the process and facilitate it instead of resisting it. All expecting couples are afraid of pain. And have lots of questions about eliminating pain. Dr Debmita Dutta does not believe in eliminating pain – but she teaches how to manage pain through breathing and massage techniques. The breathing techniques used to manage pain during labour that she teaches are called Lamaze. |
