When babies start putting things into their mouth

Parents start panicking

Did you panic too?

Mouthing as this is called is very important for your baby's development and you should allow it

1. It reduces gagging on solids
2. It teaches chewing
3. It helps babies eat differently textured foods
4. It improves hand to eye coordination
5. It builds immunity

When we don't know the reason our babies are doing what they do - we stop them from doing things that are helping them to develop.
