I didn’t dance last night. But I started dancing this morning when I looked at my Instagram page.

And saw the follower count at 100 K.

What an amazing new year gift!!

To say that I am thrilled would be an understatement.

I don’t like the word followers too much.

I like to think of the amazing parents who are there as a community of parents who want to approach parenting with empathy and compassion.

And I am so grateful for this opportunity to keep them on their chosen path.

The only reward that parents seek from all the hard work that they put into parenting – is a good relationship with their child.

But the challenge to building that relationship are the expectations that inevitably become part of the story – because of the amount of hard work that goes into parenting.

We expect results – not just from our children – but from ourselves.

And when we don’t get those results, several relationships suffer.

Our relationship with our child is the biggest casualty.

But our relationship with ourselves suffers too.

Is there a way to salvage these relationships?

Yes, there is.

Build empathy.

Expectation without Empathy destroys relationships.

But how can we build empathy?

Simply by understanding the challenges our child faces as they navigate the world with their growing brain and body.

And it is so easy to do that when we apply neuroscience and physiology to parenting.

Every child is amazing.

Every child wants to excel and become the best version of themselves.

Every parent knows that they have an amazing child.

Every parent wants to ensure that their child lives up to their true potential.

Then should the lack of knowledge of neuroscience and physiology be allowed to come in the way of this common goal?

No, it should not.

And that is why I do what I do.

I help parents to apply neuroscience to parenting and make parenting easy enjoyable and effective.

I am thrilled and grateful that a 100 K parents have chosen to walk this path with me.

If you are on Instagram – I invite you to join me. I am on @debmitadutta.

Happy New Year!

May this be the best year ever.
