Stop teaching your child ABCD and 1234 too early.

First build the neural pathways required for the brain to learn 

The learning brain is built in stages.

1. To learn reading, children first need language.
Talk to them, listen to them and tell stories to build language pathways 

2. To learn writing, children first need movement.
encourage climbing, jumping, crawling and playing to strengthens coordination, posture and hand control needed for writing

3. To learn maths, children first need real experiences.
Bring in opportunities for sorting, pouring, building, stacking and comparing teach the brain patterns.

4. To build focus, children first need play.
Play develops attention, memory, emotional control and problem-solving — that are the foundation for focus

5. To build a strong learning brain, children first need safety and connection.
Create structure and routine so that you don’t have to scold your child and the feel safe

Early academics may look impressive temporarily.
But deep learning grows from strong brain foundations.
