If you want your child to listen and actually do what you say
Slow down. Children’s brains are still developing and process information slowly. Speak calmly and give one instruction at a time so the brain has time to understand and act. Stop shouting Shouting activates the brain’s threat system (amygdala), which shuts down the thinking brain that is needed to understand and follow instructions. Listen to them When children feel heard, the brain releases connection chemicals like oxytocin, which increases cooperation. Play with them. Play strengthens the parent–child bond and activates learning circuits in the brain, which increases a child’s motivation to follow guidance. Children don’t follow instructions because we are louder. They follow them when their brains feel safe, connected, and able to process what we are saying. #BrainBasedParenting #NeuroscienceOfParenting#ParentingTips #ChildDevelopment #ConsciousParentingParentingCoach DrDebmitaDutta |
