Don’t tell your teen or preteen to work hard.
It makes them defiant, demotivated, and disconnected.
Instead, say -
• “What do you want to do about this?”
• “How can I help you?”
• “Let’s work on a strategy together.”

When you say “work hard,” your teenager’s brain feels judged, threatened, and overwhelmed — and it shuts down.

When you ask these questions, you activate their thinking brain, which leads to clarity, confidence, and real action.

Small changes make a massive difference.
