5 TRICKS to make your baby LOVE VEGETABLES

1. Eat lots of vegetables when BREASTFEEDING

The taste of food that you eat during breastfeeding is flavours your breastmilk
Your baby loves your breastmilk and will fall in love with food that they tasted through breastmilk

2. Start with SWEET VEGETABLES like carrots and peas

Babies are supposed to dislike foods that have a pungent or bitter taste.
Most poisonous foods taste bitter or pungent and so disliking these tastes ensures that they do not accidentally eat something poisonous.
Sweet foods are rich in calories and since babies need a lot of calories – their brain tells them to like sweet vegetables.

3. Offer small servings of vegetables every day

Allow them to get familiar with the taste

4. Offer vegetables at snack time instead of meals

Babies are very hungry at meal times and need food that fills them up quickly and gives them lots of instant energy to play.
They get impatient with vegetables that are primarily fibre and water. Because they take too long to eat and give barely any energy.
It is better to serve vegetables as snacks when they are not so hungry

5. Offer vegetables as finger foods

Babies love anything that they can pick up and put in their mouth
Offer vegetables as sticks that they can chew on. This will make them love vegetables.
Be careful to avoid choking.

Does your baby love vegetables?
