  2. “Try first. I’ll help if you need it.”
  3. “What’s another way to solve this?”
  4. “Take your time. Think about it.”
  5. “I trust you to figure this out.”
  6. “What’s your plan?”
  7. “That’s interesting. Tell me more.”
  8. “What happened when you tried?”
  9. “You don’t have to get it right immediately.”
Mistakes help the brain grow.
Don't try to prevent mistakes by giving instructions
Many well established parenting practices like giving too many instructions that were considered good parenting are damaging the growing brain
